Phantoms Inc - Marshall and Conner - are a spirit detective agency, dealing with the coldest of cold cases.
They live and work in an apartment above a retro arcade bar in Brooklyn called ‘Donkey King’. Marshall and Conner have had a few successful cases but when we meet them they are trying to put off paying rent to their cheery beardy landlord Klaus.
Little do Phantoms Inc know that they are just about to embark on one of their strangest assignments which will change their lives…
Conner Deal
Conner is 24 and Spirit Detective. He has a thick thatch of blond hair. Blue eyes. Thin, pale face. Irregular teeth, and usually wears grey hoodie, sneakers and Marvel t-shirt. Basically he looks like he's been dressed by Stan Lee. Conner collects Star Trek action figures (in particular ‘Next Generation’, obvs but he can’t be bothered with ‘Voyager’) .
Conner is blessed - or cursed - with psychometry ability, where he can discover knowledge about a person from touching an object associated with them. This is coupled with being a spirit Medium. Every time Conner uses his abilities they take a physical tole on him, which might explain his many ailments, or he might just be a hypochondriac.
Marshall Thompson
Marshall is 28 and lives/works with Conner at Phantoms Inc. He deals with clients more often than Conner does and feels that he understands the importance of looking professional for clients.
Doesn't share Conner's love of action figures. Considers it "tat". Has doubts over the success of Phantoms Inc. Massive X Files fan (the first 5 seasons). Marshall has had two failed businesses before and previously had to move back in with his mom.
Marshall has an intuitive grasp of technology which helps with cases and likes to think that he’s a bit more streetwise than Conner.
Leroy Faulkmeyer
An affiliate of Phantoms Inc. and Procurer of rare and esoteric items for the Fortean- minded gentleman. He was often been able to get Marshall and Conner access to people and objects that they need for their cases, but it always comes at a price.
Conner likes Faulkmeyer but Marshall doesn’t trust him. Faulkmeyer affects an English accent which doesn’t convince Marshall who is also suspicious of his lack of a digital footprint on the web.
